On March 14th, CHG Circa will present "Dreamlands", a groups show inspired by the wondrous worlds that make up our dreams. Curated by Sweet Streets' founder and Hi-Fructose Magazine contributor, Caro, the show embraces fantastical representations by 35 diverse new contemporary artists from all across the globe. Caro's creative vision expands onto multiple cultures and depicts how universal it is to be intrigued by dreams. Often dreams immerse us into unlikely worlds brought to life by our imagination, and it is even more eerie when they feel so real that our ability to distinguish them from the fictitious is blurred. Through a variation of artistic styles, some even breaking the boundaries of traditional painting methods, "Dreamlands" captures this unbound and surreal essence of a dream state. Artists featured include Amy Sol, Aron Wiesenfeld, Atsuko Goto, Caitlin Hurd, Carol Liu, Ciou, Hannah Yata, Herakut, Hikari Shimoda, Jessicka Addams, Joanne Nam, Kazuhiro Hori, Kazuki Takamatsu, Kazuki Umezawa, Krista Huot, Lola, Lori Nelson, Lu Cong, Mab Graves, Michael Page, Naoto Hattori, Natalia Fabia, Natalie Shau, Nouar, Rebecca Leveille Guay, Sonya Fu, So Youn Lee, Simone Legno, Tara McPherson, Teiji Hamaya, Tom Bagshaw, Yoh Nagao, Yoko d'Holbachie, Yosuke Ueno, and Yumiko Kayukawa.
This highly imaginative show is surely not to be missed. The opening reception is this upcoming Saturday and the show is on view through April 11th. Take a peek at a few preview images courtesy of the gallery.
