Hi.

Welcome to the latest art to emerge from the contemporary visionaries as seen through the eyes of Platinum Cheese.

Sneak Peek: Kazuki Takamatsu “Spiral of Emotions” @ CHG Circa

On June 21st, CHG Circa will present Kazuki Takamatsu's new solo show "Spiral of Emotions". Viewers will once again be mesmerized by his translucent ghostly figures rendered with depth mapping and overlapping hazy layers of white over a black background. The gradation of shades of white are meticulously thought out, as to create a sense of depth and profoundness, both visible and emotional. These 12 new gouache paintings and giclee prints will show for the first time in North America. With this show, Takamatsu depicts the young generations of Japanese society and their disengagement towards its elders. Consumed by their own thoughts, his subjects epitomize emotional instability and feed the disconnect between such generations. “Each graduation from surface to depth represents distance where there is no light and shadow,” explains Kazuki. “Black and white are metaphors for good and evil, race and religion. I use CG (digital) and painting (analog) to make work in which technology and nature coexist.”
