Hi.

Welcome to the latest art to emerge from the contemporary visionaries as seen through the eyes of Platinum Cheese.

Sneak Peek: "The Subtle Art of Pop-Culture" @ Gallery 1988

This Friday, Gallery 1988 will be celebrating its 10th year anniversary with a show entitled "The Subtle Art of Pop Culture", including a wide array of artist favorites. Co-owners Jensen Karp and Katie Sutton, opened the first Gallery 1988 location back in April of 2004 on the corner of Melrose and La Brea in Los Angeles. Their gallery's focus is still strongly established on showing artwork fused with pop culture themes. For this celebratory show, the owners and curators have selected artists who have helped Gallery 1988 become the gallery it is today. The artists will stay "within the pop culture parameters that Gallery1988 is known for", but are encouraged to include such elements in a subtle way as to not take away from their artistic styles. Artists will include Greg "Craola" Simkins, Brandi Milne, NC Winters, Scott C, Joshua Budich, Alex Pardee, and over 50 other artists, "each creating subtle nods to their favorite aspects of pop culture." If you're in the LA area on Friday, don't miss out on Gallery 1988's opening for a one of a kind collection of pop culture-inspired artwork.
