Sneak Peek: Serge Gay Jr. "Gold" @ Spoke-Art Gallery

Serge Gay Jr. returns to Spoke Art this Saturday with "Gold", a collection of new works exploring the symbolic exchange of two creative mediums, art and music. “Music was one of my escapes from reality and it motivated me to be creative during moments in my life when I’ve felt the highest high or my lowest low," states Gay. "Therefore I want to pay homage to those musicians who were the inspiration for a large portion of my work and have helped me to tell my own stories.” Taking a melodic cue from artists like Daft Punk and David Bowie, each painting evokes the style of the musical genre it stems from. By combining the two art forms, Gay simultaneously interacts and engages the viewer into a larger discussion of the intersection of art and music. Enjoy a few preview images below courtesy of the gallery, but be sure to stop by Spoke Art and check out the paintings in person. Maybe even bring your iPod along so you can indulge in an ultra sensory experience.
