The Wolfbat is reflective and meditative.The Wolfbat is the soul of featured artist Dennis McNett." - Known Gallery On November 16th, Known Gallery presented "Temple of Wolfbat", an installation, collection and retrospective of Dennis McNett’s profoundly spiritual work. Sculpture, leather etching, collage painting, and wood carving all play roles in the Temple, as Brooklyn-based McNett tells his story of an animalistic journey.
A 30-foot Viking ship sailing the wrong way down 10th Avenue in Manhattan with a metal band playing and fireworks exploding. A collaboration with Swoon in Milan. Barney’s windows on Madison Avenue, and in Chicago and Seattle. Projects with Vans, Antihero and Volcom. Exhibits from Berlin and Copenhagen to Estonia and Mexico. Museums, skateboards, galleries and city streets have all served as backdrops to McNett’s creative evolution, a powerful mix of sophistication and grit. "“It's easy to by cynical in this world. For me, it's not always easy to walk through life with positivity and try to offer that positivity back to the world,” says McNett. “I find it fun and effective to offer it with characters, story telling, collaboration, made-up myth and meditation. "Temple of Wolfbat "is a combination of all these things."
