Can You Get Me Something From the Store? marks the solo debut of Portland based artist Brianna Spencer at Chefas Projects. The exhibit features a series of paintings on canvas and paper that explores motherhood as the artist prepares for the arrival of her first born daughter. Classic Madonna and Child imagery as well as imagined scenes of daughter Ene at Grandma’s house are presented in Spencer’s signature bold and vibrant aesthetic for viewers to enjoy.
Originally from San Diego, California, Brianna Spencer’s work draws upon California culture, street art, and folk traditions to execute her illustrative style. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Spencer currently lives and works in Portland, Oregon.
