David Bray Continues His Exploration of the Unknown in 'Summer Ghost' at Parlor Gallery
Swoon. David Bray has created new work for a summer group show at Parlor Gallery entitled Summer Ghost. In these works Bray continues his exploration of the unknown while adorning found materials with pop culture references and iconography to create something beautiful. All you Jersey folks, be sure to stop by and check out the art in person. Believe me, the camera does not do the artist's work justice.
"The works for this show are a continuation of the themes explored in Amateur Occult Club. Revolving around a trio of obsessions - wine, chilli, death - the new pieces are a stylistic carve up of Eric Gill x Eric Stanton x Bart Simpson x Alesteir Crowley x Carlos Castaneda. There is an internal struggle between spirituality and consumerism. What do I pray for? More fries. Where is peace? At the bottom of a wine bottle." - David Bray
Summer Ghost is on view through September 26th at Parlor Gallery, 717 Cookman Ave, Asbury Park, NJ 07712, www.parlor-gallery.com
