The Museum of Art and History, in Lancaster, California, will be presenting a unique show tomorrow entitled "The Art of Toys: A Left Coast Retrospective of Designer Toys". MOAH will go down as the first museum in the West Coast to showcase the history of the art toy. Guest curators, Julie B. from Pretty in plastic and Heidi Johnson from Hijinx Artist Management & PR, have organized an exquisite exhibition featuring some of the top New Contemporary artists and brands to come together and define this art movement over the past twenty years. Participating artists include Gary Baseman,Luke Chueh, Tristan Eaton, Ron English, Frank Kozik, Joe Ledbetter, Buff Monster, Kathie Olivas, Brandt Peters, Mark Ryden, Greg "CRAOLA" Simkins, and more. Over 80 artists, stores, and manufacturers will be included in this exhibition. Stores/brands include Toy Art Gallery, DKE Toys, Giant Robot, Meltdown, Munky King, Necessaries Toy Foundation, Pretty In Plastic, Silent Stage Gallery, Super 7, 3D Retro, Circus Posterus / Stranger Factory, and many more. The exhibition will also feature murals by artists David P. Flores, Hueman (Allison Torneros), and Angry Woebots (Aaron “Woes” Martin).
